Conditioned Game
Conditioned to force repetitive switching of the point of attack. Regular scrimmage, but before a team can score they must possess the ball in both wide channels. One touch finish to score.
Stop game at appropriate teaching moments to demonstrate when each of the two techniques should be applied.

Switching Technique (20 mins)
Technical
Simple exercise for efficient repetitions of the pertinent skills.
Central player receives pass from corner of rectangle. On the long sides (dotted line) they receive on the back foot, open up, and play out to the next corner. On the short side (red line) they receive on the front foot, take a forward first touch, and play out to the next corner.
Coaching points:
Emphasize the difference the reception makes in the shape of the pass.
Opening up directs the pass across the front of the defender and into receiver's feet.
Aggressive forward reception directs pass into inside lane behind defender and leads receiver forward into wide channel.
First is appropriate when simply moving possession away from pressure and the second is appropriate when the opportunity to attack exists.
Progress by adding second ball and challenging one to catch the other.
