- The best part of the foot to use to run with the ball at speed should always be the outer instep (laces)
- The other parts of the foot slow the speed at which a player can run with the ball, but they allow greater control
- Aim to develop RWTB with both left and right feet

RWTB #2 (10 mins)
Objective: Running with the ball at speed, to and from different positions on the pitch.
Description
For this practice, we have 12 players within half a youth pitch.
The cones are set out to replicate the 3-3-1 formation we use for an 8 v 8 competitive game. There are 2 players on each central cone and 1 player on each wide cone.
We start with 4 balls at the same time from the central cones (1,2,5 & 7). The players run with the ball to the next cone where they give the ball to the next player. They stay on the cone waiting for the next player and ball to arrive.
This practice is a continuous circuit (1>2>3>4>5>6>7->Start).
Variation
1. Create a different sequence with the possibility of changing direction after a signal from the coach.
2. Include a pass or two as part of the sequence.
