Introducing Recovery Runs

Attackers have to get into the designated shaded area to have an attempt on goal. On an attempt on goal a player from the corner can attempt to counter attack the attacking pair.
- Attacking pair need to recover, work out how to be secure and lock out, delay the counter attack and
recover to defend their space behind.

•Compact – Narrow – Make Play Predictable
•Triggers & Cues from the opposition in an attempt to defend the space behind (Drop – Narrow up –
Compact) – Be hard to beat.
•Delay the opposition to allow recovery & prevent a counter attack.

Unit 4 - Wk 1 Defending - Defending The Space In Behind
Oranges - Defending.
Blacks Attacking.
Simply the blacks score by distributing the ball from one side and then back again. The oranges have to defend the areas behind them. With an emphasis on: -
- Being Compact - Narrow Up
- Making Play Predictable.
- Forcing play sideways, backwards or into areas where they are likely to regain.
On regain oranges need to combine 3 times and then can score in the goals.
