Session Organization:

  • 3 grids 15 yards (L) x 30 yards (W) Total 45 x 30 yards
  • Blue 4 players in both ends
  • Red 5 players in middle
  • Blue is looking to playing the ball to the opposite side. Every time they are successful, they score a point
  • Red is looking to prevent the ball being played through. Score 1 point for every denial.
  • Red sends one player in to blue zone to put pressure on blue. If that red player wins the ball, they can score on goal- 2 points
  • Play 5 reps - 3 minutes ( 1 minute rest) Total 20 minutes

Coaching Points:

PRESSURE, COVER, BALANCE

  • 1st player - Pressing the ball and making play predictable (arc run-force play one side)
  • Red defense - stay compact, prevent through balls
  • Red defense - prepare to shift and maintain cover and balance
