Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): House Keeper (Start Time: 2024-05-30 18:40:00)

Description

"House Keeper" is a fun activity for young players to teach them how to turn with the ball in a very dynamic setting. 

• The 4 red cones represent the house, 4 cones are about 2 metres apart to make a square

• The 2 yellow cones represent where the attacking player starts from who is trying to enter the house. There are 4 starting stations
• One defender starts in the house/red square, the are the "House Keeper" 
• 4 attackers start at the 4 stations, if you have more players you can add them to the each station. If you have less then you can change the shape of the square to triangle and have 3 starting stations instead of 4
• Attacking players aim to enter the house and preform a turn before the House Keeper kicks their ball
• As long as the attacking player breaks the line of the square closest to them and preforms a turn and gets out of the square without the House Keeper kicking their ball they get a point

Progression

• Start with no ball for the attackers, and pinnie in the hand of the House Keeper. Attackers must learn to break the line (enter the house) without being swiped by the House Keeper on the LEGS
• Then add a ball each of the attackers but House Keeper (Defender) still uses the pinnie but now must hit their ball 
• Then take away the pinnie from the defender and have them try to kick the attackers ball away, only has to touch the ball to stop them from getting a point
• Add another defender (2 House Keepers)
• Different amount of points for preforming a more difficult turn. 1, 2 or 3 points awarded.
