Dribbling - MINI KICKS - Grab the Gold
Organisation:
30x40 yard area.
One end area (15x10) set with cones/pennies as gold.
Players in home-base (15x10) on their own half of the field.
Instruction:
On coach's command, players all dribble to retrieve the gold to bring back to their home. Players must now be aware of balls being played by the coach from the sideline. If hit, must return to home base and start all over.
Progression: Allow players to cross over and steal gold from opponent's end-area once all their own gold is swooped up.
Regression: Add gold to areas in between to decrease the distance.
Competitive: How many can your team pick up?
Coaching points:
Outside (pinky-toe) for close control.
Laces for fast, longer distance dribbling.
Heads up to locate gold in end area.
Head up tpo be aware of balls being played by coach.

Organization: 1. 20 x 20 yard area set up as shown.
2. 12 players (4 groups of3 )set up as shown.
3. Plenty of balls.
Instructions: 1. All the gold (balls)is centrally located in the bank (center ofthe area)
2. The robbers (players)take turns to go to the bank and get a piece of gold
3. The game finishes when all the gold has been taken from the bank and the team with the most gold wins.
Coaching Points: 1. Grab the gold quickly and get back to your team.
2. Keep the gold close to you.
Progressions: 1. Once all the gold has been taken from the bank,players can then steal gold from each other.

Organization:
1. 40x30 area set up as shown.
2. Every player with a ball.
Story/Description:
Following initial pirate training, captain believes his pirates are ready to sail out and explore other islands. Pirates love treasure so they hope to collect as many gold coins as possible on this expedition.
Instructions:
1. Players dribble around the area.
2. The get a point every time they dribble around an island (orange cone).
3. Players try to get to as many islands as possible in alloted time.
4. When coach yells, "Back to the docks!" players must return with their ships to the designated area.
Coaching Points:
1. Keep your ship close to you - controlled touches.
2. Watch out for other ships and islands - head up and looking around.
3. Sail as fast as you can when their is space.
4. Ability to listen and follow instruction.
Progressions:
1. There are gold coins (yellow cones) buried in the islands (under the orange cones).
2. Players travel to different islands and grab as many coins as they can.
3. Make sure to get to as many islands as possible as not all of them have coins.
4. Captain will count the treasure back at the docks.

Organization:
20x30yd grid - with 2yd end zones
Players line up inside one end zone with a ball (minnows)
Two players hold pinnies and stand inside grid w/o ball (sharks)
Instructions:
Minnows try to dribble to other side without getting ball touched by the sharks - must stop inside end zone
If ball is touched/stolen/lost, minnow becomes a shark
Coaching Points:
How do we get to other side without being tagged? - avoid/fake out taggers, find space, go fast
How can we dribble faster? - run fast, longer touches
How do make sure we can stop ball inside end zone? - slow down/smaller touches
