CPOA (20 mins)

Play through midfield - change the point of attack - start on one side finish on the other

Organization: 10v1 with outfield players set out in 4-3-3. Balls start around midfield with CBs. Players circulate the ball with the guideline that before going to go to goal they have to play to one side and then change it to the other.

Questions:

What does moving the ball do to the opposition? - Moves the defense creating gaps in structure

What's the advantage of changing point of attack? - defense shifted ball side leaving weakside open

Who are likely free players when the ball is on one side? - likely weakside CM, winger, and outside back

How can we find them? - good angles and distances of support (midfield triangle), high ball speed, scanning

Once we've unbalanced the opposition how can we accelerate the game? Firmer passes, accelerate with first touch, movement off the ball into depth

What do we do if the opposition marks the weakside CM? - we can play directly into winger or perhaps bring in weakside OB to add number to midfield and be able to play around defense
