Shuttles (20 mins)
Set up cones 10 meters apart. Have 2-3 players on each cone.
Run them through the following shuttles to warm up (can focus on just 2-3 of them if your kids are having trouble)
1) Passing at a standstill - get players to pass from their cone and then follow their pass
2) Passing on the run - dribble half way then pass to player on other cone, follow your pass
3) Indian Dribbling - dribble from one cone to the other and hand the ball off to the other player on the cone.
4) Pull - set up cones in the middle of the shuttle, get them to drag right then pass. After, get them to drag left and pass.
5) Cul - curl from th right to the left and pass to the player on the other cone. Follow your pass.
6) Lift (for more advanced kids) - can get them to just lift once over the line of cones are try to lift as many times as they can until the reach the other cone
Can replace/add any other skills you kids want to learn. Challenge them to complete it at speed once they are confident.

- Separate your team into two teams and set up two cone lines (or use the lines on the field). Get each team to spread out on their side of the field (they cannot cross the blue cones/center line).
- The aim of the game is to push the ball as hard as you can to the other side and try to get it past the other team's endline.
- The other team is trying to trap the ball (make sure they don't use their feet) and prevent it from crossing their endline. If they successfully trap the ball, they must now push the ball from where they trapped it and try to get it past the other team's endline.
- The team receives a point if the ball gets past the other team's endline. This gets them to work on passing strength/accuracy and looking for the "gaps" in the other team.

Set up gates throughout the field
- everyone gets into pairs and has a ball
- the pair runs around the field passing through the gates, they cannot pass through the same gate 2 times in a row
Competition: each time they pass through the gate, the pair gets 1 point, set a timer and see which teams get the most points in the end
Coaching Points:
- Make sure they are dribbling with their head up so they don't run into other pairs

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
You can either set up 4 gates in either corner of the field or normally (1 net on either side of the field).
If the game is getting too congested, stop the play and get everyone to spread out.

Warm Up (10 mins)
Spend around 10 minutes warming up your team however you'd like. Below are some examples:
Octopus
Tag
Ladders - place sticks down in a ladder formation and get the team to do agilities through them
Cone Flipping Warm Up - Split the group into two teams, lay out a lot of cones right-side up and upside down, one team is trying to turn all the cones upside down, one team is trying to turn them right-side up
