Football Tennis

Adaptations:

Football Tennis: 

1. 1V1 - 2V2's - 3V3's 

1. Winner Stays On Or Timed Rounds. 

2. Ball Can Bounce Once. 

3. If the ball bounces outside the area a point is awarded to the other team. 

 

 

Progressions:

  • Headers Only 
  • 3 Touch and Over 
  • Move to 4 square - King, Queen, Jack, Dunce. Jack and Dunce Squares are out - high player rotation and engagement. 

Regressions:

  • Ball can bounce twice before it goes over the net. 

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

  • Scorekeeping - score a point by getting someone out with a header - opposite foot. 
  • First team to 5 wins - no tie breakers

Ball Mastery

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

1. Movement around the area with the ball at your feet. (lots of little touches). 2.Toe Taps. 3.Rolls. 3.Swapsies. 4.Change. 5. Step-Overs 6. Roulette. (15-20 Seconds per skill).

 

Mechanics: 

1. Toe-Taps: On your toes, toes on ball - bounce between taps (3 taps total), step off, shift with foot, alternating directions. 

2.Rolls: Left foot - Face side on to ball - wide hips - step - in front of ball - glide foot over top of ball - roll - skip - roll ball. 

3. Swapsies: Place inside of both inline with the ball - alternate shifting ball between inside of both feet. 

4. Change: Roll ball behind you - use inside of foot rolling the ball to knock it in the opposite direction - use soft touch to keep the ball under control. 

5. Step over - **Left leg** Face on to the ball - step over the ball - rotate hips (to sell the trick to the defender) - Right foot steps to the inside of the ball - Shift ball right with the outside of your right foot.

6. Roulette - **Left foot** Roll the ball with the bottom of your foot - Nutmeg yourself - Rotate hips - use opposite foot to roll the ball in the opposite direction. 

 

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

1, Combine two tricks together. 

2. Attempt to tackle another player while maintaining control of your ball. 

3. Defenders **blue** without ball attempt to tackle players with ball. (1 minute rotation),

Twin Section Rotating Carousal:

1. 1V1's and 2V2's.

2. Winner Stays On Or Scorekeeping. **Coach decision**

 

Progressions: 

  • Introduce odd numbered teams - E.G 2V1, 3V2. 

Regressions: 

  • Introduce water breaks as you feel that the players need them as these practices can be highly physically demanding. 

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

  • Can you use a trick to create a goal scoring opportunity? 
  • Drive towards the goals before finishing. 
  • Players must pass to a team mate before shooting. 
  • Players must be within a certain area before shooting.
  • Introduce timed intervals - E.G - 20 seconds to score
  • If the ball goes out then the game stops.
  • If the ball stops the game stops.
