Title: Dice 5 Passing Patterns - 15 minutes
Aim: Put players in a setting where successfully taking their first touch in the direction they want to go in and connecting with a team mate are the player actions associated with success.
Organization / Activity: Players work through three different passing patterns.
Plan for failure / Coaching Points:
Round 1: Players will fail to turn while 'protecting' the ball as the 6 - demo exactly what that looks like
Round 2: Players will fail to receive ball on their front foot as a 6 - discuss scanning turning your body early to receive on your front foot while looking at the 'three corners' in order to have multiple options.
Round 3: Players will fail to use multiple surface areas when 'playing the 1-2 around the corner' - demo what that looks like and why it's important. Players will also play 'square' when playing the 1-2. Discuss why taking small steps backwards allows time and momentum to explode into space.
Round 4: Add full backs. Seven

Title: 6/10 training - build up 7v5 - 20 minutes
Aim: Put players in a setting where connecting with a team mate are the player actions associated with success. Specifically getting the 6 & 10 reacting to each others movement in attempt to allow the team to break lines and play forward.
Ideas: 2/3 have two touches maximum. 4/5 decision making on when to circulate vs when to dribble to attract. 10's ability to find a gap, check to the ball and demand a pass that breaks the line. 6 must sprint and use skills from previous idea (turning / playing around the corner using different surfaces) Every time 10 gets the ball and connects blue get a point. Red win the ball and go to goal, they can go anywhere.
Plan for failure / coaching script:
- 6 & 10 will fail to reposition after one of them receives the ball - discuss why it's vital in order to 'change the picture' to keep possession and move the opposition.
- 4/5 will fail to circulate the ball and will force a pass wide to 2/3 or into midfield - discuss why we need to recognize this and have confidence to circulate the ball and exploit or numerical advantage
- Players will fail to use skill / deception in order to hold onto the ball and 'change the picture' in order for us to keep possession and move the opposition. - Demo what going inside looks like for 2/3.

Title: 6/10 training - build up 9v6 - 20 minutes
Aim: Put players in a setting where connecting with a team mate are the player actions associated with success. Specifically getting the 6 & 10 reacting to each others movement in attempt to allow the team to break lines and play forward.
Ideas: 2/3 have two touches maximum. 4/5 decision making on when to circulate vs when to dribble to attract. 10's ability to find a gap, check to the ball and demand a pass that breaks the line. 6 must sprint and use skills from previous idea (turning / playing around the corner using different surfaces) - Every time 10 gets the ball and connects blue get a point. Red win the ball and go to goal, they can go anywhere.
Progression: Add 8's for attacking team and 6's for defending team.
Plan for failure / coaching script:
- Players will fail to use deception to find the free player - demo what this looks like with your back to goal under pressure.
- 10 will fail to know what she's going to do with the ball before she gets it - discuss finding the free player, shielding the ball and taking two touches to allow the 8's to advance forward.

Warm Up & Cognitive
Title: Warm Up & Cognitive 1v1 - 10 minutes
Aim: Put players in a setting where they're thinking, reacting and moving to an external stimulus while competing in a 1v1 situation.
Organization / Activity: Players are tasked with winning their individual battle, they must react to the coaches direction (Head, shoulders, knees & toes) Round 1 - Compete for ball using your hands. Round 2 - Compete for the ball using your feet - Must use the sole of your foot in attempt to drag the ball back.
Progression: best out of three games. Winners move up, losers move down.
