Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Technical development - Passing, Receiving

Screen 2 (5 mins)

DESCRIPTION:

• Three players as a group in three large cones to perform simple passing and receiving drill

• The player start next to the ice cream cone to pass therefore the passing distance is longer than the previous drill
• Players: 9-12     Equipment: balls, cones and bids   Space: 10 M X 10 M    Time: 5 mins
  

AIMS:

• Improve player basic passing technique and accuracy

• Improve player technique of receive the pass
• Improve player the timing of passing 

BEHAVIOURS:

• Player can perform the inside foot passing skill to pass the ball to teammate with precisely
• Player can observe the ball route to choose the suitable receiving ball methods (inside foot receiving, outside foot receiving)

• Player can determine the pass is pass to space or feet that is depending on different situation

• Player can observe the teammate position before they pass the ball

• Player can pass the ball immediately after their touch of receiving the ball

CONDITIONS:

• Change direction to pass

• Require player have two touches only

SYNCHRO WORDS:

Skill of Passing & Receiving (15 mins)

DESCRIPTION:

• 2 player form as group, one group as defenders and wear blue bids within the cones area in two square space

• Defender can not exceed another square space to defend only can defend in own square space
• Red team bid player as possession player stand around the square passing back or forth while the blue bid player stands in the middle trying to intercept the ball 
• The first time a player with possession loses the ball need to be defender with their partner immediately     

• Players: 9 - 12          Space: 35 M x 15 M         Equipment: Balls, cones and bids        Time: 20 mins          

BEHAVIOURS:

• Improving the passing technique under the big pressure

• Improve the possession player the timing of passing which depending on the position of the defender and improve the decision making ability of passing 

CONDITIONS:

• Two touch only

• Can not pass back
• Defenders can move to another square space to intercept the ball 

DISTRIBUTION:

• Start from the server ball player who stand outside the cones

SYNCHRO WORDS:

• Be aware of the timing of passing
• Observe your possible passing target before the ball come

• Open your body to receive the ball

Skill of Passing long ball & Receiving (20 mins)

DESCRIPTION:

• Two area of 3 v 1 and 2 v 1, start from 3 v 1 red bid players keep procession, after 6 passed they can play long pass to another red cones area (2 V 1) and finish with shot
• Players:8          Space: square space 15 x 15, length 30 M     Equipment:cones and balls     Time: 10 mins

AIMS:

• Improving the technique of long pass when facing pressure
  

BEHAVIOURS:

• The player perform the long pass which can pass the ball to the teammate feet or landing in the box

• Player can lower center of gravity when they pass  
• Player approach the ball in a 45 degree angle and their plant foot should be pointing the target
• When kicking the ball, player can tightening up their ankle and hit the ball with their bony part on the top of the instep
• Kick the ball down of the middle to make the ball fly
• When receive the ball, player can observe the ball path to determine use what type of technique to control the ball
• The first touch receive the ball can make them easy yo do next action (pass, dribble or shot)
• Use their waist to exert force

CONDITIONS:

• When procession team get 4-5 passes, they can play long pass to another zone temmates
