Football/Soccer Session (Moderate): Technical Passing - Paired Box

TP - Paired Box (Structured) (5 mins)

Set-Up: Field approximately 12-16 yards wide and 20-25 yards long

Players: 10-12 per grid

Organization: 2 players from the same side (lines 1 and 2) enter the field at different levels, to receive a pass from Player A. Pass from A-B-C to endline (either line). Players then return to line 1 and 2, and 2 new players from line 3 and 4 enter to recieve the pass and continue

Coaching Points: Positioning spacing and distance, timing of movement, communication to recieve when and where, pace of pass, complimentary movement

Screen 3 (5 mins)

Same set-up as previous with added defender for opposition

Organization: Defender enters and exits the field at the same time as the two attacking players; if defender wins the ball, he should turn and play to line 1 or 2 and then activity resumes from the opposite side

Coaching Points: Reading position and pressure of defender, disguised passes, maintaining angles and levels of positioning and complimentary movement
