Rondo
Adding in a coned area a CM is situated in that zone. Aim is to play the ball in to the CM and out to score.
CM locked into the area.
Defenders (Red) cant go in the shaded area.
Progression
The player who is in the middle once plays out swaps with another outside player.

Passing Sequence Practice - This session is for the Monday session after warm up.
Players start on a cone each with the last few on the top cone.
Will need 2 of these set up for a full group of 18.
Starting on the red cone at the top of the the ball is passed to the cone on the left.
Players who start on cones are to make a move of the cone before coming to meet the ball.
Ball passed into the middle cone. Through ball down the bottom before playing to the right side cone. Switch the ball to opposite cone before playing a 1-2 progressive bounce pass and then pass to the next one in the line.
Coaching Points
- Scanning before they move and as they move to the ball.
- Where first touch takes them.
- Non verbal communication on what foot they want the ball on.
- Weight of pass.

3v3+1 Breaking Lines (10 Mins) Mirrored Practice
Welsh Principle of Play
Breaking Lines :Understand when and how to play through, around or over the opposition based on the type of pressure applied
Organisation
- 2V2 in two separate grids + 2 neutral servers (playing on 2 touches).
- Ball is played from server into central player who looks to combine in order to play into the opposite server.
- Players score 'goals' by successfully reaching both servers within one pattern of play.
Coaching Points:
- Checking.
- Creation of 'positive space'.
- 'Show to go'/ 'Go to show'
- Rotation/ Clearing out.
- Taking up threatening supporting positions outside and level with the opposing player.
Key Points:
In possession:
- Try to play through, around or over opposition
- Make pitch big (width and depth)
- Scan the pitch regularly
- Look to play forward
- Move the ball quickly with limited touches
- See three corners of the pitch
- Fast and late movements to create space
Out of possession: (to be managed by assisting coach.)
- Force play wide
- Press aggressively
- Prevent split passes

Specific Practice - Playing out from the Back (25 Mins)
Organisation
- Blue 8 players with a 4-1-2 formation which represents the 433 in the bigger picture.
- Reds playing a 1-4-1 with their 6 players. Managed by the assisting Coach
- Start with the keeper. Looking to play at from the back. One of the 2 CBs or CDM arriving and looking for movement into space for midfield to recieve.
- Red zones marked with white discs.
Creativity
- Movement in and out of the zones to create space for passes to break the midfield line. How can their movement pulls players out to open passing lanes.
- What kind of passing may they use and link to break the midfield line.
Key Points:
In possession:
- Try to play through, around or over opposition
- Make pitch big (width and depth). Stretching the pitch vertically will create more space in the middle by causing the opposition problems
- Scan the pitch regularly
- Look to play forward
- Move the ball quickly with limited touches
- See three corners of the pitch
- Fast and late movements to create space
Out of possession:
- Force play wide
- Press aggressively
- Prevent split passes
