A: Different runs to penetrate the back 4: 12-14 Players: Details matter. The timing of your runs, the width you create to open up seams, etc...

B: Passing Lines: Passing Accuracy, 1st touch, Angle of support, Communication, etc....

Progression: one touch- switching the attack with good angles- one touch give and go at each point

6v3/6v4 Endzone Game (40 mins)

6v3 Endzone Game: 9 players. Groups of 12-13 to sub players in. 40x20. 8 yd endzone

The idea is to now find the seams to play balls into that will penetrate the back 4 and get us in behind. No player from either team is allowed in the endzone. The blue line is the offside line. The objective is to score by connecting a well timed pass into the endzone and into the run of the teammate. The Att. players may not dribble into the endzones. Progression: Add another Neutral and say that the final ball must come from a 1 touch pass.

Coaching Points: 1) Are the players patient in when to choose to play the final ball? 2) Are players interchanging positions to unbalance the defense? (Overlapping runs, diagonal runs to open up space, etc...

5v5+2 Endzone Game (30 mins)

5v5 +2 Penetrating Pass Game.

This exercise creates a high pressure possession environment that demands quick movement off the ball. The game begins with both teams on one half of the field. One team is pressing while the other team in possession is trying to complete a set number of passess in order to get the ball out of their half of the field and score on the goals. Once the offensive team get the ball out, then every player from the attacking team must cross the midfield line before their team can score.
