Description

The Aim of Rondo’s is for the teamon the outside to move and pass and keep the ball away from the player in themiddle.

If the player in the middle winsthe ball, the person to lose it switches places and then must defend, if theperson passing miss places the pass, then they also switch with the player inthe middle.

It’s a great cardio activity toget the players warmed up, in addition it helps them work on their passing andmovement when on the outside and defending and pressuring when in the center.

Coaching Points:

Players on the Outside

  • Ensure the players are moving on the outside notstanding waiting for a pass.
  • Ensure the player are getting themselves freeand shouting when they are.
  • Ensure the players are positioning the pass andhitting with the correct part of the foot.

Players on the Inside

  • Ensure the player is closing angles andpressuring the players on the outside.
  • Ensure the player is reading the game andknowing when to pressure and when to hold back.

Overall

  • Stop the Game and ask questions about decisionmaking, ask why the players must move, when should they shout for the pass, when should they apply pressure, so they understand the decision making.
  • If a player is in the middle for a long timeswitch them with an outside player
