North Pole/South Pole
Session setup -
Split area into 3 sections - One end section = North Pole, second end section = South Pole, third section = the sea
Coaches to start off in middle section
All players start in one of the end section with a ball each
Session walkthrough -
Explorers are going to attempt something that has not been done before & swim from the North Pole to the South Pole as many times as possible, in the middle are killer whales & sharks are trying to stop you
Coaches will start as the whales/sharks in the middle
All players will attempt to get from one side to the other
The North/South pole are safe and in the middle is where players could get eaten
Coaches to let all players reach the other side once or twice
Then whoever gets their ball kicked away in the middle will become a shark/whale
Last player to not get eaten is the winner
*Coaches to be aware that players will need a constant reminder about the rules of the game & when & when not to dribble
Progressions
Next round players will start off as the sharks/whales
All players become sharks/whales & both coaches have to try to get through the middle

Explorers
Session based on having extra room outside on 3G or grass.
Make use of space by setting up progressions of games in separate area's to minimise setup time & waiting within session*if space allows
Assistants to be alert at all times & encourage participation from all players
Group sizes maybe big so coach needs to be loud, energetic & organised.
Bring players in to ask where the coldest places on earth are....North & South Pole. Players will be going on an adventure to both of these to find some animals.
Session Setup -
Have a large area with 4 corners cones out with different colours
Each player has a ball
Session walkthrough -
Players have landed on the North Pole - they have all been given a snowmobile to get around faster but need to learn how to accelerate, turn & stop before we can go off on an adventure
Players to dribble round, changing direction, stopping the ball & changing speeds to get used to the ball.
As its cold their, players need to keep building fires to keep warm - when the coach shouts 'fire' players stop the ball & begin to run on the spot making sure arms and legs are both pumping for 10 seconds
They have now lit a fire - coach to demonstrate pretending to put hands close to the fire to warm up
Coach gets his telescope out & says he think he has spotted some Polar Bears
Players dribble to whichever corner the coach has chosen
Players to perform toe taps in the area to replicate Polar bears big paws stomping through the snow
Other corners are -
Penguins = Players perform side to side's whilst arms are down like a penguin
Seals = Players perform ball roles with both feet. At the same time they are clapping their hands above their head making seal noises which coach will call the seal clap
Walrus = Player to stop the ball, lie down and roll back and forth like a lazy walrus
Players to keep making fires & visit each corner at least twice
If the coach shouts 'avalanche' players must dribble as fast as they can.
Coach to be energetic, tell the story & make players believe they are visiting the different animals
Coaching Points -

Use of both feet whilst performing skills & dribbling
