Main Moment: BP>BPO
Key Principle: Immediate transition into BPO positions
Football Problem (using the 5W’s):
What: Opposition #3, #8 & #6 have to much time, and as a result they are combining with #10 & #9.
Who: #3, #6, #8, #10 & #9
Where: Middle 3rd when we loss possession
When: After we attack, we are getting pinched with the quick counter
Why: closest player/s lack the urgency to press the ball carrier
Football Problem: When we loss possession we fail to drop into BPO positions to regain the ball.
Session Objective: I aim to improve out teams ability to move into BP position effectively across the middle 3rd to allows to counter the counter.
Team Tasks: (Team in BP>BPO)
When we loss the ball, look to provide the drop into BPO positions to allows us to win it back quickly.
Players Tasks:
Closest player:
-Move into a passing lane in between the defenders
-Get your body into a forward facing position to receive the ball on your back foot/
-get in front of your opponent.
Marked Player:
-If there is pressure on the ball, mark in front of or next to.
-If there is no pressure, position yourself to see both your player and ball
Cover players:
-Drop the cover
-Position yourself on the half turn ready to drop.
-If the play on the ball head goes down/leg swing is back, this = drop ASAP
Players away from the play:
-Look to drop into BPO shape
-Recover goal side.
IF YOU ARE THE "Spare player":
-Cover the space with the least amount of defenders
-Create a option beyond or between the lines.
-Look to hold your position high in the middle 3rd should the #6 or #8 drop to support the ball carrier.
Player Cue's:
- As the ball is travelling can you get "touch tight" or make the tackle .
Coaches cues:
-Is the ball at risk? High or Low? Who does this effect?
-Is the ball about to change hands? Can I effect the ball? Can I get someone else to effect the ball?
-If we can affect the ball,HOW?
Formation:1-4-3-3
