Final 3rd area bigger to create space for players to get shots off

Could add in a wide lane for players to pass into and dribble unopposed to get crosses into the box or create overloads

Final Third Out Of Possession 10 min

Set-up

Area size 30 x 20

10 balls, 3 different colour bibs, cones, flat cones for progression, goals will be needed for small sided game

Principals

Fast pressure on the ball

Stop forward passes

Force away from goal

Recover quickly into defensive shape

Block central passes (stay compact width of the area max)

Stop switches of play

Protect the space between the lines

Control the space behind the last line

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

Free play 30 seconds to allow for observation and opportunity to coach

Add in a final 3rd zone for both teams

Make the pitch smaller to help close the space and make it easier for the team to remain compact or bigger if I need to challenge the team out of possession further

Final 3rd area smaller to make the out of possession team narrow and compact bigger to create space for attacking players if the defending team needs to be challenged further
When defending make sure the player closest the ball presses but communicates where he wants his team mates positioned to cut off the passing lines (coach the player plus 1)

Time

3 x 3min 20 seconds rest in-between

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

If players win the ball back in the final third 1 point

If players win the ball back in the final third and score 2 points

If a player intercepts a cross 1 point

Team attacking get 1 point for a goal and 2 points if a goal is scored in the final third zone.

Limit players touches

Limit the amount of players in each zone

Create 2 spare players 1 from each team wearing a different colour bib to be with the team in possession to help create overloads and challenge the defending team further or put them with the defending team to make it easier if needed.

Could assign 1 team to attack the other team to defend then they swap over
