Organization:
2 Channels set up with 4 cones per line
Set up both sides where necessary
Instructions:
Players race against each other, they have 7 seconds to beat their opponent
Attacker (furtherst from channel) wins by crossing EITHER end line arms length ahead of opponent
Defender (nearst to channel) wins by stopping attacker winning
Players switch lines after every race
Race is started by players NOT the coach (start when previous race ends)
Coaching Points:
1. Space Ahead - Attack it at speed
2. Identification of defender/space
a) Defender alongside/Space ahead = Stop-Start
b) Defender alongside/Space behind = Turn
c) Defender ahead = Turn
d) Defender behind = Speed
Progressions:
If NOT using goals to score later on, a good progression would be to have the finish line now the line nearest the goals so they have to cut across the defender to score. Defender would score by tagging attacker when they entered there channel.
