Passing Ball Mastery (20 mins)

Objective: Introduce the skills of passing and receiving with little or no pressure.

Area: Quarter of field at Campton Indoor arena

Activity: 1. Players in triangle. They move the ball from point to point in the triangle receiving the ball across their body. 2. Players pass across the line in two touches, one to prep one to play and run across to other line. Should be two touches, but can start with 3 by receiving, prepping, and playing, 3. Pass or dribble across, either way develop a good first touch.

Passing Gates (10 mins)

Objective: Develop passing and receiving skills without pressure other than time.

Area: Quarter of field at Campton Indoor arena

Activity: Players should be split into pairs. Players try to complete as many passes throught the gates as possible in the time given.

Coaching Points: Proper technique. Emphasize that the toe is slightly up and the heel down in both passing and receiving. Find the proper weight for each pass. Visual and verbal cues. Do not let players stand between cones Balls and players should always be moving.

Passing Gates 2v1 & 2v2 (20 mins)

Objective: Develop passing and receiving skills with pressure applied.

Area: Quarter of field at Campton Indoor arena

Activity: Pick 3 defending players. These 3 defending players are now trying to steal the ball from the 2 attackers. Two attackers score by completing passes between the gates. If defender wins it, they try to dribble throughh as many gates before the attacking team regains possession. Play 2-3 minutes, switch roles. Progress to a 2v2 game where they are playing a 2v2 team game trying to pass to their friend more than the other team.

3v3 to Targets (20 mins)

Objective: Develop passing and receiving skills in a SSG.

Area: Quarter of field at Campton Indoor arena

Activity: Split into teams of 5. Each team team has 3 field players and 2 targets. Team get a point for playing into the target and whoever passed it to the target changes with them. If you likem you can add points for making a predetermined number of passes.
