One of the important aspects of implementing Rondos within our training regiment is to ensure it is done with our playing style and tactical plans in mind within a limited amount of space.Two teams compete to maintain possession using the neutrals (Red) to combine with when in possession. Plenty of balls should be available to be passed in by the coach carefully to maintain possession and ensure continuous play with intensity. If the defending team (Blue) wins/intercepts the ball, they change positions (transition) going from their compact defending shape to an expansive attacking shape (Dispersal; Length/Width).

This shows how the team in possession of the ball resemble a 4-3-3 system of play when combined with 5 neutral players.Provides a visual perception from above the practical implementation of rondos being transferable from the practice field to the game field.
Visually it shows on the field where there is the possibilities of situations of 3vs1, 3vs2, 4vs2, 4vs3 & 5vs3.

The Black team combines with the Red team to maintain possession of the ball. While the Blue team defends and attempts to press and intercept the ball.
Coaching Points:
Quick transitions - Both Attacking & Defending;
Movement - to create supporting angles with the correct distances;
Scanning play - to see options & opening passing lanes;
Speed of thought - (thinking a pass ahead);
Limited touches and quick ball rotation;
Immediate pressure on the ball eliminating passing lanes;
Making play predictable (showing inside/outside);

TRANSITION 1: If the Blue team wins possession, they maintain possession within the field vs. 2 Red neutral players and 1 Black player making it a 5vs3 situation.
TRANSITION 2: On intercepting the ball the Blue team now combine with the Reds and transition to the outside of the playing area (Dispersal: Length & Width). One Blue player stays in the central area to act as an attacking midfielder. The team losing possession (Black) now enter the central playing area and attempt to win the ball back.
TRANSITION 3: Goals can be added centrally on the side of the 2 Red Neutral Players (#4/5) for the Blue team to shoot on if they win possession of the ball.
