Initial Game (15 mins)
Set up: 20x30 area. 4v4 or 5v5 with a half way marked out
Organisation: Play a regular SSG. All players apart from one attacker and one defender must be in attacking half when a team is in possession. When the defending team win it, they try to play the ball forward into attacker who shields and protects the ball waiting for support.
Ask players to work hard to keep the ball, use the body to protect the ball.
Coaching points:
Keep body between the ball and the man
Use furthest foot to protect
Use the body

Shielding & Protecting (20 mins)
Split the players into groups, max 8 players per group.
One group starts one side of goal, the other opposite.
Server plays the ball into grid, both players try to win possession. Whoever wins possession looks to to score on the goal.
Rotate players.
Coaching points:
Deal with the opponent first, then the ball
Protect and secure the ball, keep body between the ball and the player
Furthest foot to protect
Body position - balance, feel for the defender

Back into a regular game, bring out points if needed.

King of the Ring
Set up: 5x5 areas, one ball between two.
Organisation: Players play one v one for 30 seconds, keeping the ball inside the grid. Player that has the ball at the end of the 30 seconds wins the point. Play for 3 rounds.
