Team: 2008-2015 Birth Years (split into age groups)

Equipment: floor markers, balls, bibs

Focus: Technical Dribbling, Passing, Movement

Focus: Dynamic movement with emphasis on coordination, change of direction, creation of space

Cones set 20 meters apart, 10 meter space in between

Players without ball:

1. 2 players on either side, jog toward eachother, feint left go right, jog to other side

- incorporate movements - high knees, side shuffles

2. Progression - players sprint, slow down to perform fake, sprint

3. Progression - add ball, next diagram

Technical dribbling

15 Minutes

Focus: Dynamic movement with emphasis on coordination, change of direction.

Cones set 20 meters apart, 10 meter space in between

Players with ball:

1. Players dribble at each other, perform any fake, go to right of cone, dribble across, repeat. 2 minutes

Players dribble at each other, perform any fake, go to left of cone, dribble across, repeat. 2 minutes

2. Progression: 1 ball, player dribbles toward middle cone performs fake, dribbles across, leaves ball for teammate. Then backpedals to middle cone, turns and sprints back to original cone. 2nd player repeats

Players start by faking right, 2 minutes, then fake left. Repeat 2 times per side.

Fakes to be completed in the progression: Side Step Feint, Scissor, Sole Roll

End with fun competition: Final 4 minutes - how many times can you get from one side to the other.

Coaching points

1. correct dribbling technique, toe down

2. selling the fake

3. changing speed and direction

Focus: Proper passing technique, proper receiving technique, movement off the ball

Cones set 20 meters apart, 10 meter space in between

1. Ball at feet - players dribble, pass ball across, back pedal

2. Ball at feet - players dribble to cone - pass to teammate - move diagonally to next line

Coaching points:

1. weight of pass

2. receiving technique

3. changing direction after passing

1v1 to goal

1v1's with changes of direction

Progression to 2v1

Time: 20 Minutes

Defender plays ball across to attacker, attacker can score in either goal. If defender wins the ball, they look to pass ball back to teammates in line for a goal.

Coaching points:

1. Attacking at pace, change of direction

Progression:

Game becomes a 2v1 if the defender can play the ball back to their teammate. 2v1 now going to either goal.
