set-up channel about 5yds wide and 16yds long. Different colour pylons in middle as visual cue for player performing half-turn
Implementation
Player A passes to player B who should half-turn to receive ball to back foot, and then plays to Player C. Player C receives and passes back to Player B. Middle player works for 1-2 minutes non-stop before rotating out. Play 2 touches, 3 if you HAVE to.
*working player starts behind the defenders (cones) then moves back to in-front and receives ball behind them as they move.* timing of pass is important.
Coaching Points
Proper passing technique (inside foot, follow-through to target, weight/pace and accuracy of pass)
Proper receiving technique (positive first touch decision)
Supporting Movement - must be QUICK and completed while ball is traveling from the earlier pass
Timing of run - working player must be moving back & forth from gate (moves away/dark, comes in/light to receive).

													Organization
Create a 15X20 yd area - two sets of gates on each end line as shown in diagram. balls off to side. 8 players per side.
Instructions
Two attackers start playing with 2 defenders - if you score you stay on. Players score by passing through the gates. Next 2 players are at gates to receive through pass. Those receivers are then the new attackers and other two players drop to defend. Goal is to be the 2 players that stay on the longest. If ball goes out - coach kicks in new ball.
Coaching Points
speed and approach (get there quick, do not dive in)
distance
eye on the ball
delay (patience) OR win the ball
balance and body position (close the door to the net)
communication ie; pressure & cover
Tackling - body and then ball, if pressure gets beat - cover has to become new pressure QUICK

													Passing Patterns. Players set up as above in 2 groups of 5/6. All players at blue cone have a ball.
Combination 1: Player A plays into B who steps of defender (cone) and plays into C who drives wiht ball back into starting position.
Players follow pass. Player D repeats the pattern with ball travelling in opposite direction from position B. Quick play.
Combination 2. Ball from A to B into C who plays a bounce pass with B before driving home.
Combination 3. Long direct pass from A to C, B turns to support C who plays to B for a set back to C to drive home with ball.

Create a grid of approx 15x20 yds with 6 players.
Instructions:
4 players inside grid and play 2v2. Objective is to retain possession while transferring the ball from one target player to the other. Encourage players to create width/depth when in possession. Targets players can play to each other if defenders start "cheating".
*extra player can act as a neutral*
Coaching Points:
-movement of attacker to lose defender
-body position of attacker when receiving the ball
-surface of foot/turn to use depending on position of defender
-movement of other target to create a passing lane
-movement of 2nd player (take defender away to create space/be an option for pass).

- Ball starts with left player
- Cones placed in a pentagon
- Start at 10 yards apart
- Extra balls with coach for quick restart
Instructions:
- Start with 2 touch so they know where to pass to.
- Quickly transition to 1 touch.
- Once comfortable get them to check out from the cone then into the incoming pass.
- Extra players behind rotate passes
- Finally progress to the players following their pass (outside of the pentagon)
Emphasis:
- Body position (when receiving - pointed towards next pass)
- Accuracy of pass (foot position, follow through)
- Body movement (checking out/in explosively)

Instructions
- Inside teams transition attack and defence on turnovers
- One team plays East, West. One team plays North South
- Goals scored by playing target player.
- Winner stays on, first team to three points.
Progression:
- Point for getting the ball back into play from the target not for playing the target.
- One point for playing both targets without losing possession.
Coaching Points:
- Attack: Spacing in possession (Dont crowd the ball)."Look Far" with passing (Depth, pass first and assess other options after). Speed of play and rhythm of ball movement.
- Defence: Step forward and pressure passes inside thearea. Correct attitude in defending(Aggressive, Press, Intercept, Tackle)
