Relay Activity (20 mins)
SET UP: (20-30) players (5) Lines of 6 Players 4-5 Cones, Poles, Agility Hurdles Spaced out a min. of 5 -7 yards apart (30 yards total)
Divide Teams Up in even numbers (The more teams the better to eliminate waiting)
Instructions: Start off by having all the players go through the obstacle course a few times. Once everyone has gone through it and they have an understanding of what the activity is, then then the activity relay can begin.
Relay 1: (Without the ball) Players will zig zag (side step) through each cone, then sprint to the pole and circle it, before sprinting to the hurdle and jumping over it. Players must run back and tag the next person in line.
Relay 2: (With the ball) Players will dribble through the cones, then they will dribble the ball to and around the pole, before dribbling to the hurdle and passing under it, and retrieving it on the other side. Players must dribble back and tag the next person in line.
Relay 3: (With the ball) Players will dribble to the 4th cone, then they will dribble back to the 1st cone before dribbling up to and around the pole. Then they will dribble to the hurdle before passing under itand retrieving it on the other side.. Players must dribble back and tag the next person in line.
Focus: Speed, Agility, Touches on the ball, ball control (ball should be tight to the body) Have players avoid kicking the ball too far in front of them.
