Organizational / Instructions
Hot Chocolate
One child will be at one end of the hall, -wearing a bib- , everyone else will be at the other, with a football each.
When Hot Chocolate - the child wearing the bib - is facing the wall, everyone else must dribble slowly and quietly up behind them. The goal being to be the first one to tap Hot Chocolate on the shoulder and call out "HOT CHOCOLATE". That person will then become Hot Chocolate.
However, if Hot Chocolate turns around, everyone must freeze with the ball next to, or under their feet. If you move, Hot Chocolate can send you back to the start; behind the line of cones.
Coaching Points
- Keep the ball close to them
- Slow pace
- Head up and eyes scanning
Progressions / Adaptations
Progression: Have the first two people caught out become Marshmallows who have to help Hot Chocolate see if anybody is moving.
Adaptation: There could be two games going on if space is permitting by splitting the hall down the middle.

Organizational / Instructions
Four Corners
A different coloured cone will be placed at each corner of the hall.
The children will be doing different movements around the hall e.g. jumping.
When the coach calls out a colour, the children must get to that corresponding cone as quickly as possible. Ensure you have a few practices without the ball before adding them back in.
All children will have five lives. If their lives run out, they would do five star jumps.
Coaching Points
- Relaxed upper body, slightly over the ball
- Frequent, small touches with your feet.
Progressions / Adaptations
Progressions: Place random cones of a colour that is not one of the corners, around the hall and instruct children to dribble round them before going to the called out cone.
Adaptations: If there are not enough footballs, have the children go in pairs and give a ball between two. This would involve adding in the command "SWITCH" would mean the pairs would pass the ball to each other before continuing with the game.

Line Dribbling/Races
Children will be split into teams; standing behind a different coloured cone that will correlate with the bib they are wearing.
Spots/Cones will be laid out in front of each line. Children will be given varying instructions on how to get around these cones.
Footballs will then be added when they have an understanding of the movements needing to be performed.
Coaching Points
- Keep the ball close to your feet.
- Use both left and right foot.
- Slightly bend knees to keep balance.
Progressions / Adaptations
Progression: Make it competitive! First team to have everyone completed the course and back sitting down are the winners.
Adaptation: Have them run halfway instead of the full length of hall.
