Session Game model Principles:
- confidence to take the ball
- clear decision making to play the ball through , around, and over
- find the spare player to find 2v1 and 3v2
Session Mechanics:
1.Passing:
- look at the target
- eye on the ball
- non-kicking foot alongside the ball in a comfortable position
-firm ankle and follow through
Other mechanics to consider:

- identify target.
- Body position in relation to the ball.
- Arms out for balance
- Non-kicking foot beside the ball
- head over the ball
- Select surface and strike; laces, ball
- Follow through when striking the ball

Small sided game skills:
The area is split into a grids. In each grid you have a 5v5 (blue vs red) and one half of each grid(1&2) will consist of a 3v2 in favour for red and blue. Each team will look to keep possession and look to more the ball where they have the numerical advantage.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Progressions:
- After 10 successful passes each team will receive one point.
- After 5 successful passes in a zone you have a 3v2 it counts for 2 points. Team is encouraged to play were they have numbers.
Regression:
- Go back to no pass restriction when looking for overload.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
- 3 extra points if you can complete 5 overload passes with 2 touches or less per player.

Small sided game overload:
The game will be 5 v 5; 5 red vs 5 blue, and each team will have a goalie in yellow. The field is split by 4 quarters. The team in possession will need to make sure they have 3 players in each quarter and to utilize overloads. The goalie canbe used to overload in the defense quarters.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Progressions:
- teams will play without restriction and play a straight forward 6 v 6
Regression:
- Go back grid restriction when looking for overload.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
- 1 extra point when a team finishes in a 2V1 or 3v2 situation.

Technical Warm-up (10 mins)
Technical warm-up:
Use cones or mannequins to create a 10 X10 yard box. Each marker will have one player standing next to it, one marker will have a players where the drill will start with the ball). Player will be instructed to pass the outside and along the box grid. The coach will need to hold up the standards of the mechanics.once a player makes their pass they will then follow their pass and more along the grid.
Progression:
- Encourage the player to limit their actions to a touches and to communicate with their teammates.
