Atletico Activity

Organization:

-Team in poss of the ball tries to play into forward or score

- forward can (lots of variables here) play one touch to link other forward then score, forward can score, forward can have unlimited touches.

-wide player represents 7/11 can dribble in main grid, cut back to 9 or mf, or score

- Cones represent lanes for defending players -- how can we best use that space

-count blocks for scoring, celebrate interceptions

-red's rest defend if in possession of the ball (trick here is they will immediately try to score, some tempo is key)

TCU rule must take 9 with you when pushing up and must make contact in all handoffs

2nd round add hm to operate on line in front of backline

-blk positional 9 can float into mf, hm must be checking shoulder backline must communicate 9 movement

Objective:

CHATTER

Keeping the integrity of the 4 players in the back line while stepping and dropping to decrease and limit where opponent can play

All about spacing and working together

1st defender too deep makes cover defender respond by being even deeper

Give example of playing behind target player and show them space they are giving up

Communicative hand off and opponent movement

back 4 integrity (10 mins)

Organization:

-Back 4 starts high and wider (transitional)and each set ends in 1 defending

-Black ball carrier starts on dribble and plays into either of the 3 black players, or shoots.

-back 4 cant step in the first few soccer balls, just drop squeeze to get the feel and see what happens

-Black players attack the goal trying to score, and/or attack the space in the middle of the box

-Red players defend the goal and decrease the scoring percentage of the black team by keeping them out of dangerous triangle space

-set ends with coach playing 2nd ball in to attacker and calling out defender for 1v1, others clear out.

Objective:

-red team drop, squeeze, organize, then pursue ball carrier

-Red team in control of defending in the box -- show players outside the triangle area

-Red find the right time to escort along the line, tackle, poke tackle, interrupt attacker, and steal ball

-progressions of defending steal, tackle, poke tackle, block shot, escort

-GK layer is informative, commanding, inspiring presence
