Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): WFC 1st team - crossing and finishing

Arrival

1) 5v1 - 4 def must stay on outside and 1 def in middle chasing attacker. Def in middle has max of 5 touches to catch attacker but can pass it out at any point to an outside def to filter in (inside def filters out)

2) 2v2 +2 through a gate.

- Attacking team attempt to score by dribbling through a gate after completing at least 1 pass

- Def team aim to tag the player on the ball before he can score (def must have the ball to tag)

- Guards move around the area and attempt to block the gates. Attackers can only go through an empty gate.

3) Passing exercise

- play in, follow, receive other ball, touch for player following in

- keep ball on the outside moving whilst combo in middle is going on (can only pass to the person next to you

Key points:

Delivery

- so that attacker can finish is 1 or 2 touch

- in front or to feet so that attacker is always facing the goal

- appropriate type of cross and weight to make it easy for attacker to finish

Attacker

- play on blindside of defender

- final movement as crosser takes last look before crossing

- of the 3 attackers - at least one attacking the goal and one for cut/2nd phase

- if you can't finish, set someone else up who can
