Technical (20 mins)

Set up as shown in the diagram, dividing area into half, and marking out a GOLD ZONE.

Set up 3 attackers and 1 defender in one half and 1 attacker, 1 defender and a GK in the other half.

Coach starts exercise by passing a ball into the 3 attackers to create a 3v1.

The 3 attackers must connect 3 passes before they can play a pass or dribble ball across into attacking half.

On playing the ball across the game is live creating a 4v2.

The objective is for the 4 attackers is to find a way to create goal scoring opportunities within the GOLD ZONE.

If the defenders win the ball they attempt to score on either of the 2 mini goals.

Coaching Points:

Create space, width and depth

Quality of the pass, timing, weight and accuracy

On 3rd pass can we pass fwd to striker, dribble & drive ball fwd, or play a release pass into attacking half

Once in attacking half can we find ways to get into GOLD ZONE

Possible questions:

What ways can we play the ball fwd. into the attacking half?

How did we get into scoring area to create shots on goal?
