PRESSING PRACTICE (5vs2)
Explanation:
The goal of the drill is for the blue team to win the ball back while both being in the same square. If the blue team wins the ball but however they are not in the same square then Its not a point. The red team gets a point every time they split the defenders. The blue teams will rotate every 90 seconds. Whichever team has more points after 4 sets wins, After the teams will be shuffled and repeated 3x.
Coaching points:
Can you apply enough pressure to force mistakes?
Can you cooperate with a teammate to organise a press and not get split?
Can the attacking team keep possession without forcing it?
Timing:
90 seconds x 12 sets.

Explanation:
5vs5 game with GK's. The aim of the game is to score while the entire team is in front of the halfway line. If they score and the whole team isn't over the halfway line then it doesn't count. The team without the ball must press the ball.
Coaching points:
Can you set traps to win the ball?
Can you force mistakes?
Can you transition from attack to defence with pressure?
Timing:
-Split into 3 thirds of 8 minutes.

If numbers are ugly, add a Joker.

PASS AND PRESS PRACTICEexplanation:
3 Players start on the cones and 1 player is a defender In the middle. The three players must only pass to each other when they are to the left and right of them (no diagonal passes). The player without the ball standing diagonally to the ball must make their movement to the free cone. The defender must press the ball carrier for the whole duration of the drill.Coaching points:
Can you Identify the free space to receive the ball?
Can you receive the ball on your back foot?
Can the presser identify a bad touch and press?
Coaching adjustments:
Place a 2 touch limit to increase the difficulty.
