Makers Takers 7v3 Possession Game (15 mins)
Organization: Two rectangles of 20x30y, two mini goals at the center line, back to back.
Defending team sends three defenders to try to win the ball back from the team in possession. If they clear it out, new ball is put into play for the defending team to now be on offense on their side.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
1st Phase: (Mini goals are not part of the game) Offensive team gets a point for 8 consecutive passes.
2nd Phase: Mini goals are now utilized. Offensive team looks to establish possession, with five consecutive passes then look to create an opportunity to score on the mini goal facing them.
3rd Phase: Mini goals are utilized. Offensive team looks to make two consecutive passes and then create an opportunity to score in the mini goal facing them.
ALSO quick transition incentive in this phase. In the image of the session for example, if a blue defender wins it and passes it across to one of his or her teammates on their offensive half, his or her teammate can finish one touch into their goal. Looking to finish quickly off transition when the opportunity presents itself.
Makers Takers. A team scores on the goal, the next ball goes to them to look to score again.
