The left outside back crosses from different positions and receives tha ball from different positions and in different ways. Reading and intercepting long switches, 1v1 defending in wide areas (10 mins)
Description:
5 players. The 2 players that are coached are the left outside backs. The ball starts at midfield with a pass to the left outside back. The left outside back receives passive pressure either from inside or from outside. Depending on the pressure, he needs to take a first touch inside or outside to pass the opponent and then make a big switch on the ground to the player positioned on the opposite side of the field. The left outside back needs to intercept the ball and pass the ball into the mini goal. Then a coach in will play a second ball to the red player. The left outside back needs to defend 1v1 against the red player avoiding that he scores in one of the 2 mini goals positioned inside the box. If the left outside back can't intercept the ball from the switch, the 1v1 starts immediately.
Progression:
Ball starts at midfield. After receiving the ball, the left outside back has the option to do a give-and go with the player inside and/or outside (needs to be added). Then he makes a big switch, this time in the air. The left outside back on the other side needs to intercept the high ball and score in the mini goal. Then 1v1 same as before. This time, however, the coach plays a high ball into the space and the 2 players need to go battle for it.
