Exercise Description:

Diving for a low ball from a set position.

Coaching Points:

-feet set shoulder width apart

-step in the direction of the ball

-bend stepping knee out

- shoot hands to the ball

-hands wrapped around the front side of the ball

-ending with body forward and legs behind you

Exercise Description:

GK gets set behind the small goals and quickly moves forward to make the save in front of them.

Coaching Points:

-Get set on the correct angle at the moment of the shot.

-quick, compact steps to move forward in front of small goal to make save.

-hands wrapped around the front of the ball to limit rebounds

Progression:

-add distrbution

-add second shot back to other side of goal if GK does not hold first shot cleanly

-ability for the shooter to shoot at big goal or small goals, keeping GK honest

3 GK's serve to 1 working GK moving to catch balls from different angles.

Coaching Points:

- get feet set at moment of shot

-weight forward

-hands in front

- quick and compact footwork keeping shoulders square to shooter

- distribute following the third shot

Progression:

compete for points. One point for each ball caught cleanly and 2 point if you throw the ball into the target goal.
