Development activity

Key Factors

  • Explanation: 
  • 1 - Pass into the serves hands who then throws the ball in the air(head height) then the striker lets the ball bounce once at volleysthe ball towards goal. Large goal with GK in the goal - encourage players to alternate from left to right. 
  • 2 - Pass into the serves feet who lays the ball off to the striker's weaker foot. Shot just be taken with the weaker foot. 
  • 3 - Pass into the serves feet who lays the ball off to the strikers who shoots with their laces - encourage players to alternate from left toright. 
  • 4 - Pass into the serves feet who lays the ball off to the strikers who places the ball into the mini goal with the side foot.. Shot just betaken with the side foot in order to place the ball into the corner of the net - encourage players to alternate from left to right.

Once a player takes a shot the player moves onto the next goal but must enter the central box before the next shot - order 1-2-3-4-1and continues. 

Rotate serves every 2.5 minutes

 

Organisation

Area Size:25 x 25 total area size

 

Player numbers:14 players in total

 

Timings: 20 minutes total

 

Progressions:Add more challenging finishes to the goals.Add targets within the goals to hit - for example a bib in the mini goals.

 

Regressions:Remove GK to start and include them in the shooting drill.Create easier finishing opportunities/ techniques.

Key Factors

  • 3 team scoring game.Reds vs Blues with Blacks are neutral bounce / server players onthe perimeter. 
  • GK always stays in their goal.First to two goal stay on or last goal to score stays on. 
  • Example - if reds score two before 2 minutes they will stay on and the blues andblack team swap. 
  • Conditions:A neutral player must touch the ball before a shot is taken.Encourage to use neutral player often as they are creating the overload.

Progressions:Create scoring zone.Weaker foot finish 

Regressions:Larger goal.Larger area.

  • Area Size:5v5 pitch - smaller to create more scoring opportunities. 
  • Player numbers:14 in total. 
  • Timings: 40 minutes in total.Each game in maximum 3 minutes.First to two goal stay on or last goal to score stays on. 
  • Example - ifreds score two before 2 minutes they will stay on and the bluesand black team swap.
