Set Up:
Create a 12x16m area with a cone in the top middle and two cones 7 metres down at each side and a small goal at the opposite end (as shown in diagram).
How to Play
Three players keep possession - every pass has to go through the middle player.
Two or three passive only defenders (depending on player numbers) protect the goal by getting into a position where:
- wide players is pressured by nearest defender (so he/she can't play forward) and 2nd defender is covering
- top central player can't play between you
If you have 3 defenders, the attackers can look to play a switch. The highest defender should pressure the top player and recover to prevent switch if it goes wide.
Swap roles after 60 seconds.
Progression
Attackers can attempt to score.

Set Up
Create a 30x16m area with a 6 yard channel through the middle and 4 small goals outside each corner. Have 3 teams of 5 players - two teams attack and one defends.
How to Play
Attacking teams in possesion look to:
- make at least two passes & a max of 5 pasess before passing across
- play through, not over!
Defending team look to:
- prevent attackers from playing through
- win possession and score
- At least 3 defenders must stay in the channel but can interchange.
Teams defend for 2 minutes before swapping roles.
1 point - successful pass across
3 points - win ball and score in goal
Notes
- If you can't press, keep the ball in front of you and prevent forward play.
- Be in a position where they can't play between you and next nearest defender.
- Can you force play towards your team mates or into narrow side?
- If wide, can you position yourself to prevent the attackers switching?
- If they switch, can the nearest defender pressure and others recover?
- Can you press any poor pass or touch?
- Can you move across the pitch in relation to the ball?
- If you win possession, can you quickly look to score in one of the goals in the area you won the ball.
