9v9 Game
Organization
- Ball is played in to the blue team who go to the red team goal. If intercepted the red team keeps the ball and transitions to the blue team goal.
Area 70x45.
Duration 25 minutes
Coaching Points: Address defensive team first.
1. Address all defensive team players 1-9, starting with the #9 and work backwards to the goalkeeper.
- #9 for defensive team should set the line of confrontation high up the field and force play one way. Prevent passes back to the goalkeeper.
2. Defensive team: Defensive positioning (10 – 12 yards between defenders in a compact block), shift, slide, block shots. Focus on the defensive duties. Don't focus on the defensive teams transition to attack at the moment.
-Defensive team defend as a unit, shifting sliding, prevent penetration and goal scoring for 25 minutes
Attacking team: 1-2-3-3 formation going to goal and creating goal scoring opportunities.
-Game management from blue and red teams.Attacking team: Focus on working with the #6, #8, #10 (primary) & #9 (secondary).
- Starting positions of the attacking #8 and #10 should be on the outside shoulder of the opposition #6 and #8.
-Supporting positions of the #6, #8 & #10.
-First touch and body shape to set up next action
-Speed and accuracy of passing
