Football/Soccer Session (Advanced): 9/12 Through balls and MS IB

Warm up/technical (5 mins)

Organization:

3 servers

1 GK

Instructions:

Coach passes into central server

Server 1 then turns into 1v1 moment, Lets ball run or passes back to either server 2 or 3

Server 2 or 3 receive and serve driven ball

If held, GK rolls to opposite server who plays back to coach.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Body shape

Judging speed of the ball

Get down low and early to attack back of the ball with hands

Set/handling

Look to recover to feet quickly to create counter attack

Blocking shape/technique

Screen 3 (10 mins)

Organization:

Instructions:

1 - GK turns off post into 1v1 situation

2 - If held GK distributes to server 2

2 - If not server on edge of box shoots or plays down across server 4 for cross, cut back.

3 - Server 4 can go 1v1 at tight angle or cut back for live shot

All rebounds are live - servers improvise if needed

MS 1v1 progression (20 mins)

Organization:

2 mannequins on 18 yard box as shown

1 mini goal in varied position 

Instructions:

1. Coach plays weak pass for defending space outside of box to mini goal

GK to recover to 6-8 yards out

2. Coach passes to server 1 with pass or through ball into box

Server 1 can come inside mannequin for shot or down the line on the dribble for 1v1 moment

3. Recover from previous action into 3rd moment for recover save.

Server 2 to take as fewer touches as possible then look to score
