Warm up (15 mins)

Warm-up

Organization:

  • Individual work. No ball will be involve in the first 5 minutes.
Instructions:
  • Players will be doing a couple of exercises shown by the coach, such as Jump squats, jump lunges, lateral bounds, A skips, reverse lunge knee drive, tuck jumps, high knees, heel flicks, kneeling stand ups.
Coach Points:
  • That the players have better concentration.
  • Players react faster and more effectively.

Warm-up part II (15 mins)

Warm-up part II
Organization:

  • 10 cones forming 2 lines ( 5 on each side)
  • 2 orange cones at one end of the exercise and a ball with a goal in front.
Instructions:
  • Players will skip as fast as they can laterally facing the exercise, run as fast as they can to the orange cone, change pace until reaching the red cones, and then sprint toward the ball and dribble around the goal. Coming back should be walking and give them a 56-sec resting intervals.

Coach Points:

  • Keep players active.
  • Teach players how to change rhythms when running, this will help to improve their VO2 max and their fitness level.

Exercise I (10 mins)

Organization:

  • Individual work
  • 1 ball per player after 5 minutes.
Instructions:
  • Players will be walking backward and the coach will be throwing tennis balls at them from the back and they need to catch it in the air before this one touches the floor. Dribble forward and throw a tennis ball from their back when adding a ball. I also will stand in front of the players with 1 tennis ball per hand and make them stay in place in an active position with their hand extended and I'll let go of 1 tennis ball at a time, sometimes both hands in front of their hands; they have to react fast and catch them.
  • After 5 minutes, I'll change the dynamic and I'll be holding 2 different color cones, I'll encourage my players to dribble the ball and look up and say out loud the color they are seeing in English & Spanish. 
Coach Points:
  • Teach kids how to improve their peripheral vision when playing soccer.
  • Keep players entertained and focused.

Exercise II (15 mins)

Working on shooting to the goal while standing. Free kicks w/sticks as a simulation of people.

 Organization:

  • Individual work
  • Big goal
  • Sticks.

Instructions:

  • Player will be doing free kicks to the goal. I'll be observing their way of kicking the ball and trying to make corrections.

Coach Points:

  • Help players to get better reactions.
  • Teach players how to change direction.

Exercise III (10 mins)

COUNT DOWN GAME

Organization:

  • Tall cones forming individual lines for each player.
  • 1 ball per player.
Instructions:
  • The players will all wait until the coach blows her whistle to start this exercise.
  • The exercise consists in dribbling between the cones ( make them choose any technique) and once they reach the last cone they must pick it up and dribble straight on the side until the 1st cone on their line put it on top of it and keep doing that until all the cones from the line are stacked in the 1st cone.
Coach Points:
  • Watch who struggles to keep the ball closer to their feet.
  • Give positive feedback.

GAME TIME

  • Divide the group into teams and play a reduced game with a small field so they are more opportunities for short passes.
  • Let the players have fun.
  • do not stop the game too much to make corrections.

  • Players should make a circle around the coach.
Instructions:
  • Players must follow instructions and focus on breathing while stretching.
  • It's important for all the players to stretch properly.
Coach Points:
  • Ask players how they are feeling 
  • Give individual feedback about each player's performance.
