Creating the Overload (10 mins)

Key Factors

Quality of pass, body shape to receive, creating angles, find space, decision making, midfielders looking over shoulder before receiving.

Organisation

40 x 20 area around centre circle

Each team has two FB's, a number 10 and midfield 4.

Number 10 plays ball in to full back to start and then midfield 4 all have to touch the ball and get it in to their 10, Sequence continues.

Both teams work, unopposed to start.

SSG (20 mins)

Key Factors

SSG encouraging the deep lying midfielder and number 10 to drop in and get on the ball.

Organisation

Half pitch split in to three zones. 2 v 2 in each zone. To begin with players can only stay in their own zone. Aim is to work through the zones and score a goal.

Progress to allow players to drop back a zone, encouraging them to get on the ball. To begin with if they do drop back the defender cant go with them. After a while the defender can go with.
