3. Training Shooting

Reflection -

Withing this session it was easier for me to provide specific feedback to players. Whilst the shooting drill was going on i was able to watch the players

who were shooting and assess their technique whilst receiving and striking the ball. As the groups were split into two larger groups i was able to provide

feedback to the players by taking them to one side rather than stopping the session so ball rolling time was kept to a maximum.

This was the same moving into the skill and small sided game. Within the game i did have to stop the group twice just to advise on some positioning

pointers but on the whole i was able to keep ball rolling time to a maximum

Overall i was happy with the session

4. Traning RWB, Dribbling

Reflection -

Through the session my interventions were mainly on a 121 basis without having to stop the whole group. Throughout the first two drills i was mainly

having to stop players just to encourage them to use different parts of the foot while dribbling as you could see some didnt feel comfortable so i

demonstrated with them and encouraged them to keep trying using different parts of foot and technique. Once it came to the skill practice at the end

you could see players felt a lot more comfortable and it showed on the end practice where the standard was very high

8. Shooting session u10s

Reflection -

The first two drills were of a good standard. I tried to keep ball rolling time to a maximum but in these drills rather than speaking to individual

players i stopped the whole drill to show the players different types of shots i wanted them to try and most players were just striking the ball as

hard as possible so showed them different types of shots and broke it down to explain body shape etc when striking the ball

Within the small sided game i tried to concentrate on players finishing as soon as possible, explaining that in game situations you won't always have

time to compose yourself and take your time and that getting early shots off whilst maintaining good technique is vital. Very happy with the session

overall and think the players took home lots of positives

9. u9s Passing and Dribbling session

Reflection -

In this session i tried to keep everything as basic as possible as this was a team who had recently been started and with kids who'd never played

much football before. In this session i tried to keep ball rolling time to a maximum as it was important for these kids to have the ball as much

as possible

Within the dribbiling drills i went round the group to individual players talking to them about the different parts of the foot they could use

and always encouraging the group. The same as the passing drill, i didn't stop the group as a whole just would go round and talk to individual players

around technique and ways to receive the ball and body position

In the small sided game i used three sets of target goals to try and make it as easy for the players to improve confidence. Before the game started

i talked to the whole group about what they'd learned through thr dribbling and passing drills and try to bring that into the game.

Overall i was really happy with the session and you could see the smiles on players faces and once the session had finished the feedback

from the players was very good

10. u9s Dribbling and RWB session

Refelction -

The players within this group were of a high standard. Within this session i focussed mainly on speaking to players individually to provide

feedback on their technique and to provide individual challenges within the skill and small sided game. I challenged certain players to

try and get different types of skills in when trying to take on the defenders and use
