Method:6 v 7 Build up Centrally from midfield into opponents half.


Shape: 2-3-1(Green) v 1-2-3-1(Red) Start: Green CB passess to other CB or into midfield 6,8,10.Green's look to keepgood possession, build up and look to score.If Reds win the ball, they score by passing through any of the 2‘Goals’. The Yellow Centre Backs start a new attack

Coaching Points:

  • Angles in passing, moving and receiving.
  • Create width & depth to allow space for build up.
  • Create space and options in front of the ball through goodsupporting angles and passes.
  • Look for penetrating runs with or without ball.
  • Provide quick support.
  • Score goals.

Method:Green 5 CB starts the plays to any Green midfielder or can find wide players , Green’s look to keepgood possession, build up using the full width of the pitch try use wide players to upset the Reds defensive unit and create space to score goals.


If Reds win the ball, they try score by pasing the ball to the Green 5 CB  player who moves in between gates to create outlet for Red team through either of the 2 ‘goals’. Yellow’s must transition todefend quickly.

Coaching Points:

  • Create width & depth to allow space for build up.
  • Good quality/selection of passes to create overloads through thethirds.
  • Look for Green team to make the pitch as big as possible.
  • Get into areas to create goal scoring opportunities.
  • Look for movement of Green number 9, body shape, when to make runs.
