This is a One-hour game-based session plan. The session aims to provide opportunities for players to use passing and receiving techniques in twos
The session starts with an arrival activity, so the players can get going while waiting for other players and coaches to set up the session. The session includes:
• A physical literacy & technical warm-up.•2v1 activity.
•A final game
•2v2s will allow for individual and small team opportunities for players to decide when, where, how, and why to either Run with the ball, Dribble, or Pass

Arrival Activity (5-10 Minutes)
A minimum of 2 players is needed to get going. As players arrive, they put down their water bottle, coaches provide them a pinnie, and they start playing. As other players arrive, increase the game to 2v2s, 3v3s. Overloads 3v2 are ok. In the beginning, place two nets down for the game field. As the players are playing, walk around to complete the area set up with cones.
Setup
1 x 25/35yrds field and 2 nets on each end. It is ok to start with a smaller field and make it bigger as the players arrive.
Objectives
Get going and into a soccer mindset
Enjoyment of playing soccer

Gates (10 Minutes)
Setup loads of gates within the playing area
Physical Activity: Players have one ball each and see how many gates they can run through with the ball in 1minute?
• Players can perform different skills as they go through the gates•Add defenders to block gates (Can be players or coaches)
Technical: Players are in pairs and pass the ball through the gates. How many gates can the team pass through in 1 minute?
•Using Inside of the foot / Using the sole of the foot / Using outside of the foot•Add a defender to block gates(Players or Coach)
Setup
1 x 17/25yrds area. The area can be smaller or bigger if required.
Objectives
Physical Literacy
Changes of Speed and Direction
Fun
Passing & Receiving
Good contact on the ball
Know where teammate is
Good weight of the pass to teammate
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
2v1 -> 2v1 (20 Minutes)
Set up one or two fields depending on numbers. Two fields allow for more repetition and no long lineups.
2v1. Attacking players must progress past two defenders and score in the goal. Defenders cannot leave their area. If the defenders win the ball they dribble out of the square. If the defenders dribble out of the square they become attackers and the attacking duo who lost possession are now defenders.
Progression
Add a time limit to score a goal (7 to 10 seconds)
The first defender can join in the second area once the attackers have entered it.
Setup
2 x 17/25yrds areas. For ease in setup, place cones halfway down the middle of the arrival game setup. Gates or goals can be used in this activity.
Objectives
Players are introduced to the concept of creating Width & Depth (Spreading out) when in possession of the ball.
Players keep trying to make positive decisions to move the ball forward even when unsuccessful the previous time.
Enjoyment of playing soccer.

Normal game, no coaching points or stoppages. If coaching is required, limit information and allow lots of ball rolling time.
Team Points
Extra bonus points for passing
