Red / Green
Red Light, Green Light
Focus: Ball Carry Position, Acceleration and Deceleration (Goalkeepers can do this exercise as an agility and fitness session)
Set Up:
- Set Up Four Cones in a Line 5yds in between each cone
- Each Line of Cones is 5yds away from the next line.
- Athletes line up in between two lines of cones
- Each Line has a ball
- Set Up Enough lines so that each line has 2-3 athletes per line
- Push Left Hand away from the body (Super hero punch)
- Sit your hips low to the ground - Stay low
- Check up, eyes up
- Keep your stick on the ball (Stuck like glue)
- Breakdown feet to decelerate / keep active to accelerate
- On Coaches signal - Accelerate to the next row of cones, then stop. Repeat to the next row, until the last row. After the last row athletes will turn and accelerate back home. The next player will go
- Coach can begin with an audio signal (call or whistle). To improve vision, use a visual signal
- At the stop athletes can drag right and left. On signal must accelerate to the next cone.
- Athletes Track on Angles based on where the coach points
Drill Progression:
- Athletes carry Ball Backwards to create attack space forward (this could be a "yellow" signal)

Tracking Skill
Shuttles
Focus: Ball Carry Position, Tracking on Angles, Getting Feet Around
Set Up:
Coaching Principles:- Push Left Hand away from the body (Super hero punch)
- Sit your hips low to the ground - Stay low
- Check up, eyes up
- Keep your stick on the ball (Stuck like glue)
- Keep Ball in a Triple Threat Position
- Ball goes through the gates, feet go to the outside of the gate
BALL 2: Right Baseline
Player 3 carries the ball through the gates. (Ball goes through the gate, feet go around the outside). Player 3 Passes to Player 2 who is at the near post to score a goal. Player 3 Stays.
Ball 3: Left Baseline
Same as Right Baseline, but Player 2 and 3 are in to score the goals.
SHUTTLE LINE
If group sizes are too big, add an additional shuttle line that does not go to goal. But incorporates the same principles. Ball Through the Gate, Feet Around

Numbers
Numbers:
- Every Attacker has a ball, and a number from 1-3. Attackers can move forward, backwards, and side to side.
- Defenders stand in the middle of the grid. Defenders can only slide from side to side.
- The defenders call a number and the attackers try to make it to the other side. If the defender touches the ball, the attacker becomes a defender.

1v1 Continuous
*No Backswing if going to goal
Set Up 25x15 area - Goals in the center at both ends
Balls Start in Both Corners with Attacking Lines
Defenders Start on Both Sideline lines
Attacker starts the ball and plays a 1v1 against the defender in the game. If defense wins the ball, they try to score in the goal. Play until the ball goes out of bounds or is done.
The next ball starts at the opposite side. After 4-5 minutes, switch the attack and defense.

Carry By Color
Color Gate Game (extra game if desired instead of numbers)
- Players Line Up in the corner with 1 ball per team
- The Coach calls out a colored gate and the player on the ball must run through the gate. When the coach calls "Home," the athletes return to their home.
- The coach can add complexity by holding up the color rather than calling the name. Each color could also indicate a skill (drag right, drag left, 3D)
