We just lost the ball

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization: Set area per diagram above, approx 15x20. 6-8 players.
Activity: Players on one half play rondo 3/4v1. Players in possession combine passes (earn pts per set number of passes), if defender wins ball they play across half to their waiting team mates and then join them. Team that just lost ball sends a player across to defend and win ball.
Progression: Add a 2nd defender after set number of passes by attackers. If its 4v4 leave an attacker on defending half
Coaching Points. Can attackers make quick transition to send player to challenge and win ball quickly. Quick decision making, which player goes over half to win ball before extra attcker joins to help? Best defender, closest to half line, player on right/left side if ball is on left/right side?

Organization: Set area approx 15x20. 6-9 players
Activity: Set 3 teams of 3 players, or 4 teams of 2 players, or designate a neutral player if numbers require. 1 team begins as defending team, as other teams pass ball around to maintain possession. If defending team wins ball they become an attacking team and team that lost ball becomes defenders.
Coaching Points. When team has lost ball can they transition to defend quickly to get ball. Are we transitioning to get compact quickly. Are we sending a player(s) to challenge ball quickly? Are supporting defenders covering and balancing take away options and passing lanes?

2v1/2v2 (15 mins)
Organization: Set area per diagram above, approx 15x20. 6-8 players
Activity: 2 defending players line up at cones at middle. 2 attackers line up at one end. 2 cones are at opposite end marking a goal line. 1 defender passes to attacker to represent an intercepted pass. This initiates a 2v1 with 2 attackers and closest defender to ball, the other defender drops to defending half. Becomes a 2v2 if/when attackers cross half. Attackers score by dribbling past goal line. Defenders score by passing to a player waiting in any of the lines.
Coaching Points: Can closest defender quickly close in on ball carrier to either intercept or force bad pass. Can defender drop centrally to protect net in event of quick counter. As defender in own half, play to support ball challenger vs marking player, win ball vs delay for help?
