Gatekeeper
Set up:
40 X 20 yd grid with different colored gates spread throughout.
Each player has a ball.
Instructions:
1. Each player starts in an empty gate with a ball each.
2. Players look to dribble to a gate, perform a turn and move to the next gate (pick 3-4 and emphasize both feet)

Progressions:
1. Compete for highest number of gates.
2. Add players or coaches as "gatekeepers".
a. Look for open gates.

Change in direction and speed, sell the move, close control vs laces to space, simple play, vision and early decision making.

4 goal 1v1
Set up:
Two 15 by 30 yd grids with two wide cone goals.
Instructions:
1. Player in line one passes across to player in line two.
2. Players in line 1 defend and players in line 2 defend.
3. Attacking players more score by dribbling through either gate.
4. Defenders that win the ball are encouraged to transition quickly to attack.
Progressions:
1. 2v2
2. Open up two grids to play 3v3 to 4v5.
Coaching points:
Change in direction and speed, close control vs laces to space, simple play, vision and decision making.

Rapid Fire
Set up:
Split the team in 1/2, two cones 5 yards past the 18.
Instructions:
1. Player in line 1 passes the ball out to teammate waiting at the cone.
2. Receiving player gets 2 touches to finish.
3. After shot team two immediately starts.
4. Rotation: Shooter, goalie, passing line.
Coaching points:
Toe down, ankle locked, land on shooting foot, plant foot positioning, looking for posts, quick transitions, awareness.

Set up:
One grid with various colored cones randomly spread out,.
Instructions:
1. Players are asked to jog from cone to cone.
a. Any cones, assign colors, patterns of color.
Progressions:
1. Make competitive: First to 10 cones, first to 5 patterns.
2. Flip the cone (split team in half with bibs. One team flips upside down while other right side up).
