Coaching Points:

  • Both #6 & #8 start in the half channels, #10 centrally
  • 6 and 10 determine what happens depending on amount of pressure they have on them when receiving ball
  • If the #6 & 8 or #10 checks for the ball and does not have pressure we look to play them
  • If the #6 & 8 checks and brings pressure she lays it off, then looks to drift wide, and the 2/3 get high and 7/11 get high
  • If the #6 or 8 holds,  #10 checks and if she brings pressure she lays it off then goes wide, and the 7/11 get high and the #9 drops in the middle
  • If the 4/5 aren't being pressed and we are compact, look for the switch

  • Player starts at line "A". On coach's call/whistle, player must sprint as fast as she can through first gate, then cut  through the gate on right side, cut back through gate at 20 yard mark, and sprint through last gate at 30 yard mark.
  • **For today's intro to this test, two girls will run simultaneously with 1 going to right gate, other to left gate. Each will repeat same side 7 times.
  • Outside gates are 1 yard wide, the outside flag/pole will be 5 yards from 15 yard median
  • Players have to sprint through the finish line/gate at 30 yards, jog through gate B, and jog back to finish line in less than 25 seconds. Record each sprint time, start the recovery clock when player crosses the 30 yard gate.
  • Perform seven consecutive sprints to the same side, then take 10 min break and repeat to the opposite side gate.
  • There is no pacing, each sprint should be as fast as possible.
  • This is a test of recovery from high intensity running
  • Determine the fastest time, average time, and slowest time
