1 on 1 in a square
- Line up defenders behind 1 cone with a ball each and attackers in front of them ready to receive the pass and attack.
- Defender passes to attacker
- Defender then makes a curved run to take away the goal and close the distance to the attacker
- Attacker attacks the goal and once the sequence is complete, they switch positions.

Defending as a unit (basic)
Pressure/cover/balance
Number the cones off 1-4.
Call out the numbers for the players to pressure.
Talk to them all about
1) Pressure is the first player in, body position, angle of approach and distance on the ball
2) Cover has to think about their angle, tucking in to the pressure to remove the split and being at a good distance to not be so far that they can't support but not so close that they can't adjust when the ball moves
3) Balance needs to still think about tucking and not being split but also think about the proper position to be ready to pressure and remove skip passes when possible.
