One of the important aspects of implementing Rondos within our training regiment is to ensure it is done with our playing style and tactical plans in mind within a limited amount of space. Two teams compete to maintain possession using one neutral (Yellow) to combine with when in possession. Plenty of balls should be available to be passed in by the coach carefully to maintain possession and ensure continuous play with intensity. If the defending team (Blue) wins/intercepts the ball, they now transition from going from their compact defending shape to an expansive attacking shape (Dispersal; Length/Width) and combine with the neutral player. Defending team work hard to force the direction of play to the square they feel can win possession back the fastest.

Coaching Points:
Movement off the ball into space, where you can receive the ball at your feet without the ball being intercepted.
Receiving the ball, open body to see the majority of the field allowing to open shoulders to move in either direction; receive the ball with the front foot (the direction you want to go) away from pressure; safe side so you can shield the ball; touch direction to eliminate the pressure on the ball
Tempo of play, 1 touch if you can, 2 if you need, 3 if you must. The tighter the space or pressure on the ball the quicker the ball must move.
Combinations of play, give and go, 1-2 pass or wall pass
Communication of wanting the ball, man on, direction of play
