This session is intended to improve our attacking combinations when WE have the ball in Phase 3.

Dynamic Stretches
1. Legs apart, bounce L, C, R (5x)
2. Calves 1, 2, 3 switch (2x each leg)
3. Knee to chest into Figure 4 with footwork in between (2x each)
4. Quad strech with footwork in between (2x each)
5. Speed skater with footwork in between (2x each)
6. Spiderman/Rollback (4x each)
7. Reverse RDL + Reverse lunge + Overhead reach (4x each)
8. Open/Close the Gate (4x each)
9. Lateral lunge (2x each)
10. Squat Jumps (4x each)

Objective: improve passing and receiving.
Set-up: 6-8 players per group. Triangles or cones set-up 6 yards apart.
Variations: (1) receive it across body pass to the next cone 2 touch, (2) Up, back, create space, receive it across body and pass on to the next player, (3) up, back, cut pass.
Coaching Points:
1. Bend at the knees when receiving;
2. Toe up and heel down;
3. Proper pace on the pass

Objective: improve combination play.
Set-up: 2 grids that are 10x15 connected by a 5 yard buffer area.
Instructions: player play 4v2 and try to connect with the 9. They should be set up positionally. Once they connect and get the ball into the other grid 3 players join. The midfielder and the 9 switch. Other wing players run in.
Variations: Keep points and compete with other grids for how often you can complete the transfer.
Coaching Points:
1. Movement of the ball
2. Movement of players
3. Timing of the run by the 9.
4. Combinations: 1-2, up/back/thru, 3rd man runs.

Objective: to allow for the return of pre-exercise HR, improve relaxation and flexibility.
Intensity: VERY LOW
Instructions: follow coach-led static stretches, yoga stretches and breathing exercises.

Rondo 8v2 (10 mins)
Objective: mental and physical activation game for the training session.
Set-up: 10x10 grid. 10 players.
Variations: 1 touch and 2 touch. Introduce rules for megs and splits. If you get megged you have to defend again. If you and your partner get split you both have to defend again.
Coaching Points: proper passing and receiving, movement to fill in spaces, fast transitions from defending to attacking and from attacking to defending.
